§ 2-211. Headed by director; divisions and areas of responsibility.

(a)

The department of utilities shall be headed by the director of utilities. This department shall have the following divisions:

(1)

Water division. The water division shall see to the operation and maintenance of the water filtration plant, pumping facilities, transmission mains, storage facilities and distribution mains of the city's water supply, and the reading of water meters and preparation and mailing of water bills. This division shall be responsible for the supplying of water to the city's customers according to this Code and rules and regulations adopted by the city council.

(2)

Sewer division. The sewer division shall be responsible for the operation and maintenance of sanitary sewer, storm sewers, and drains.

(b)

The director of utilities shall perform such other duties as are required by this Code and rules and regulations adopted by the city council.
