§ 2-111. Director's duties and responsibilities—Generally.

  • The department of planning and community development shall be headed by the director of planning and community development who shall be responsible for directing the community development program formulated pursuant to the housing and community development act of 1974. He shall prepare the budget and statistical reports and forecast for all federally assisted projects under his supervision as required or requested by the city manager. He shall conduct the continuous citizen relocation program necessitated by city condemnation proceedings. He shall prepare special federally assisted program reports and other assignments as requested by the city manager. He shall coordinate and cooperate with various governmental units and departments of the federal, state and local level. He shall carry on such public relations activities as may be necessary in order to keep the general public and city officials informed on federal policies and progress. He shall perform all other related work as may be required or assigned to him by the city council not limited, however, to the duties set forth in this division.
