Pursuant to the provisions of section 3(k) of Act No. 279 of the Public Acts of Michigan
of 1909 (MCL 117.3(k), MSA 5.2073(k)), and section 8 of Act No. 230 of the Public
Acts of Michigan of 1972 (MCL 125.1501 et seq., MSA 5.2949(1) et seq.) (State Construction
Code Act of 1972), as amended, the Uniform Swimming Pool Code, 1994 Edition, as promulgated
and published by the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials,
is hereby adopted by reference by the city, as in this article modified, for the purpose
of protecting the public health, safety and welfare by providing minimum requirements
and standards applicable to the erection, installation, alteration, addition, repair,
relocation, replacement, maintenance or use of any swimming pool plumbing system in
the city.
